Eva Caplinger was born in 1875 to Paul and Sarah Caplinger.  She married John D. Foltz on July 27, 1897 and they had a son.  Eva died on November 28, 1914 at Indian Lake in northeast Marion County, near Indianapolis.  She was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis [1] 
 
John D. Foltz - husband of Eva Caplinger
John Dora Foltz was born in 1874 to Jesse Byrkit and Nancy (Poland) Foltz.  He married Eva Caplinger on July 27, 1897.  John's father died on November 8, 1914.  His wife died about three weeks later.  On November 23, 1916, John married Anna May Miller.  They appear together in the 1920 and 1930 census records, living in Indianapolis.  In 1940, John and Anna appear in the census in Bloomington, Illinois in the household of Jack Miller, Anna's son from a previous marriage.

John died at his home in Bloomington on March 24, 1941.  Funeral ceremonies were held at the Beck Memorial home in Bloomington on Wednesday, March 26 with the Rev. H. W. Talley officiating.  Clarence Bennett, Percival Wood, Rufus O'Harrow, Leslie Young, Howard Miller and Howard Brown served as pallbearers.  John was buried next to Eva in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.  [2]

Jefferson "Jessie" Ervin Foltz was born to John and Eva Foltz on May 31, 1901 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He appears in the 1910 census with his parents.  In 1920, he appears in the census living with his father, stepmother and two step brothers in Indianapolis.  On May 24, 1924, J. Ervin Foltz applied for a U. S. passport.  On the application he declares Chicago as his place of residence and student as his occupation.  He lists England and France as his destinations and that the object of his visits is to study.  Ervin Foltz is listed in his father's obituary as living in Chicago in 1941.  Jefferson Ervin Foltz, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. John Foltz of Indianapolis, married Judith Mabbatt in Lake Forest, Illinois on August 21, 1943.  Jefferson was associated with the U. S. Department of Agriculture and travelled frequently.  In the mid-1950's, the couple moved to California.  Jefferson Ervin Foltz died in Los Angeles on May 6, 1976. [3]

Judith Mabbatt - wife of Jefferson Ervin Foltz
Judith Mabbatt was born on September 10, 1893 to Richard H. and Mary W. (Seavern) Mabbatt in Elizabeth, Union, New Jersey.  She married Jefferson Ervin Foltz on August 21, 1943 at her brother's home in Lake Forest, Illinois.  Judith died on May 7, 1988 in Alhambra, California. [4]
